Sunset

on the way home from riding lessons.

Court of Honor

K earned his final Eagle Palm and is now an adult member of the troop.  M earned a couple of Merit Badges.

Just in case you were missing one of our sun rises. . .

Brookings SD Living History Fair

We watched as people reenacted various characters in history.  We got to help cut soap, learned about the Colt 45, saw a cavalry horse, met a Norsewoman, learned about frontier firearms, made butter and learned about brain tanning.

Thank You

to our friends M and K who stayed with the children while I was in CA.  I hear that K enjoyed sledding with the children and shooting with the boys!  And M has memorized the current favorite movies!  You are a blessing to us!

Home Snowy Home!

South Dakota

had gotten about 6 inches of snow the night I left and the ground looked very different from when I had left.

Leaving Denver CO

the temperature was right at freezing and heavy wet snow was falling.  Watching the deicing was cool, even if it was a bit unnerving. . .

Approaching Denver CO

Sunrise

over the wing of my plane headed from Ontario CA to Denver CO.  R had a couple more days of work in CA and I needed to head home to the children.  He dropped me off at the airport where I made my way through security and to my gate stopping for a breakfast sandwich on the way.  Miss you already, Babe!  Thanks for a wonderful long weekend in sorta sunny, warmer (but not by much) CA.

Shabu Shabu

Near the hotel is one of R's favorite restaurants.  He tried to take me to dinner here last year but we arrived at closing!  Monday night we went for shabu shabu (shabu means swish) and oh was it yummy!  From the menu we chose meat and a type of soup that came with veggies.  Then at a "salad bar" we made dips.  The waitress brought out our soup in a pot and set it on the individual burner in front of us, and when it was simmering we swished our meat in the soup, dipped it in the sauce and ate it with the veggies and rice.  Mmmmmmm

Lovely, just lovely.  Oh, and they have a great breakfast!  Monday, R had to work so I did our laundry, packed my suitcase and curled up with a good book.  I enjoyed the garden and picked an orange!  He picked me up for lunch and we met RS at a Japanese restaurant for lunch.  Good to see you again RS!  After lunch I napped and read, ahhhh.
